Islands in Brazil, Nature’s beauty

Brazil is the most populous country in South America and Latin America having over 200million citizens as well as the largest in the region according to land mass claiming about 41% of the continent. The Latin America country is multicultural and diverse ethnicity owing to the mass settlement of people from around the world many years ago. Home to greats especially in sports like Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Neymar Jr, Brazil is known to shine being a beauty to behold. Its topography, natural endorsements, people as well as its Islands are nothing short of beautiful all round. Although islands in Brazil are not as popular as the ones in other major Nations of the world like America or Europe, yet they are not less beautiful in any way.

Ilhabela, Ilha Grande, Ilha do Mel, Ilha do Campeche and Fernando de Noronha are some wonderful islands you can find in Brazil. A 15minuite ride from São Sebastião arriving in Ilhabela can be more like finding your Treasure Island. Its beautiful, dramatic scenery earned it its name Ilhabela meaning “beautiful island”. It is home to a thriving wildlife population as colorful toucans, parrots swoop through the Atlantic trees while Monkeys and Brazilian squirrels move freely along branches. Also present on this island Is a 300 cascading waterfalls hidden beneath its broad canopies further showing off its natural beauty to humans and animals alike.

Honey island locally known as Ilha

Around 160 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro lies a quintessentially tropical island, Ilha Grande. This natural beauty was once a hideout for pirates and contained a prison that housed some of Brazil’s notorious criminals. Iha Grande houses some ancient Brazilian history as well as a blast of nature offering elemental draws, untarred routes, shallow cores, rocky outcrops on a mostly empty shoreline. This island offers an ancient breathtaking experience, the now abandoned prison could be worth a visit.

Honey island locally known as Ilha do Mel offers an even more excitement though it can only be reached by boats. This natural beauty appears in the shape of an hourglass stitched into the water with looping sandy pathways, wide open beaches producing gentle waves that crawl over the sands. Ilha do Mel is regarded as an island with mythical history and the caves on its south most part is told to have been inhabited by mermaids who had powers to enslave those that come to their dwellings. A true adventure is certain in the honey islands as these mythical caves can be easily accessed.

Fernando de Noronha is located a few hundred meters off Brazil’s northeastern coast. Its beautiful outlook showcases Brazil’s natural beauty at its best with its grassy cliffs, turquoise waters and shoreline surrounded by jagged rocks. The clear waters of this island are the highest known concentration of resident dolphins as well as other aquatic life. The Fernando de Noronha is awesome with every feature making it one of if not the best in the country as well as a huge tourist destination.
